Laurie and Robin are Master Simply Music Teachers and Master Coaches who’ve been teaching Simply Music since 2003 - and they're still going strong as active teachers.
With decades of hands-on experience teaching, running businesses, coaching teachers, and building meaningful connections, they bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to their work. Laurie and Robin are dedicated to ongoing growth, both personally and professionally, through transformative education. They embody Neil’s idea that creativity is “critical neurological nutrition” and bring that energy into their coaching, and of course, the annual Retreats.

Supplemental Program Seminar: Blues Infusion with Robert Relly
Discover an easy, step-by-step approach to introducing students to the joy of improvisation through the Blues Infusion Program. You'll get a quick overview of the full program, see how it builds improvisation skills progressively, and explore how to use the included jam tracks and reference materials. You’re welcome to play along at your piano during the demo, and there will be time for questions throughout and at the end.
Honoring the Integrity of the Core Curriculum
We’ll explore what it means to "maintain the integrity" of Simply Music - to ensure your students receive the full value of the program from the very beginning. You’ll leave with greater clarity and confidence in your ability to deliver the vast content of the curriculum.
Delivering the Foundation Session With Ease
Set your students up for long-term success with a dynamic, well-paced Foundation Session. Laurie will share her approach to dividing the Foundation Session content across the first four lessons. You’ll learn how to cover all the key concepts - and still make progress at the piano in each lesson. Bonus: take a peek at Laurie's ready-to-use slides to keep lessons flowing and students engaged, while helping you remember all the key talking points.

We’ll explore the *why* behind teaching Arrangements, discuss best practices for delivering the material, and cover important dos and don’ts—including pacing, dosage, and how to adapt for different students. Whether you're just getting started or looking to refine your approach, you’ll leave with practical guidance and renewed confidence.
Beyond the Basics: What Comes After Accompaniment 1?
So your student finished Accompaniment 1—now what? In this session, Laurie will demystify what comes next, including how to reinforce Accompaniment 1 content, when to introduce Accompaniment Variations and Accompaniment 2 programs, and resources that support a smooth progression. Walk away with practical tools and a clear path to keep your students growing in confidence throughout their Accompaniment journey.

Jazz Clues 1 & 2: Can I Teach This?
The Jazz Clues Program is an easily accessible way to introduce students to the world of jazz. In this session, Laurie will guide you through the essentials of Jazz Clues 1 and 2 (out of 4 Clues), offering a clear roadmap for getting started. Whether you’re unsure about your jazz chops or just want to know what to expect, this overview will boost your confidence and show you that teaching Jazz Clues is well within reach.
